Song Analysis

My song is We Are The Champions by Queen. Lead singer, Freddie Mercury, at the age of 45 died due to AIDS. It is said that he wrote many of their songs based on his disease. This song is about when he found out he had AIDS, "I've done my sentence but committed no crime". He's been diagnosed with this disease, like a punishment that he has to serve time for. But he committed no crime, he did nothing to deserve getting the disease. However, he didn't sit and sulk about it, "I've had my share of sand kicked in my face- but i've overcome". This song is a positive message because the beggining explains that he's had a bad experience, but he will overcome it and live his life as happy as he can, "No time for losers 'cause we are the champions-of the world-".
